I think thinking about becoming an adult, and having to face up to your problems and face up to your insecurities, is difficult for everybody.
Going forward, I would love to work with directors like Rian Johnson and Joss Whedon; people like that who are doing big films but do have really independent voices. That's kind of what I want to focus on, is always working with people with at least an independent point of view, even if it's not an independent film.

Where I grew up in my city, there was no one who acted like me, so I felt insecure, and when I would read those books - Junie B Jones, or Dr Seuss - those characters felt like me. It didn't teach me good morals, but in other ways it kind of did. It gave me the bravery to be myself because I saw somebody else being like me.
For about 125 years, give or take, the Canadian government has acted extremely badly - even in a way which should be called evil - breaking treaties, breaking agreements.
When God came into my life, that unsettled feeling about the way I lived and acted that came over me, that is really what has humbled me more than anything.
