Our leaders should certainly engage passionate advocacy of needed reforms, and equally strong criticism of policies they believe are destructive to America. But, from the school boards to the White House, let's elect more candidates who are committed to constructive dialogue and reasonable compromises.

Our family has always drawn on the power from above to comfort us in times of despair and stress.

Dad had a way of disarming people because he never really directly attacked them. He might attack a principle, but he never attacked the individual.

Individuals cannot be free if there are impediments to reaching their full potential as human beings.

I wrote strong advocacy stories, and when I got to fiction, I made a deliberate effort to leave that behind and enter a country where I had no ax to grind, no advocacy issues that I was carrying with me.

We all share some commonalities with the states we come from and where we come from on the political spectrum. There's a lot of work to be done to make sure we continue to have strong advocacy for these values that we find in the heartland, in red and rural states.

I'm proud to welcome the attendees of March for Life 2019, especially those Hoosiers who made the trek to Washington to show their conviction for defending the rights of the unborn. Your passion is inspiring and your advocacy makes a real difference in lives and laws every day.
