Part of my mandate is to curb corruption and streamline a cumbersome, graft-ridden bureaucracy, to put resources where they will provide the clearest results, and to untangle a complicated regulatory environment.
Tourism is a crucial industry that could employ millions of Filipinos, skilled and unskilled alike, cross those 7,107 islands of the Philippines. From the current projection of 3.3 million tourist arrivals in 2010, our aim is to eventually attract 6 million tourists. In the process, we expect to create 3 million jobs in the next six years.
The United States is a key ally, a strategic partner, and a reliable friend of the Philippines.
Awards do get you 'that profile,' but then you have to do the rest of the work - it's not just a case of 'now you don't have to do anything.'
I'll look at photos of myself, when I'm at awards or something, and kind of cringe because I can see myself trying to do what other people wanted me to.
In any awards ceremony, if you're a finicky person like myself, you can pick a multitude of things to nag about. I get frustrated with the comedy category because it feels like it gets sidelined a lot of the time for all kinds of things - not sidelined, marginalized.
I'm in control of my musical career, which means more than awards and record sales. And that freedom is exactly what my dad fought for, too.
The room is full of such talent. It's a beautiful thing about the SAG Awards. It's the most rewarding room to be in as an actor.
