I could always take a joke. I could always be the butt of the joke. I could always hand it out. That was just who I was.

Sometimes being old is used as an insult, which is bizarre because, if you're lucky, that's literally going to happen to you. It's a strange thing to gloat about: being born recently.

Science is constantly proved all the time. If we take something like any fiction, any holy book, and destroyed it, in a thousand years' time, that wouldn't come back just as it was. Whereas if we took every science book and every fact and destroyed them all, in a thousand years they'd all be back because all the same tests would be the same result.

I'm an optimist.

I just know what I want, and I'm willing to butt heads with folks to get it.

Anything where we're the butt of the joke, no one tells us about it.

Get off your butt and join the Marines!

This book-promotion stuff is like a political campaign. You work your butt off, and at the end of the day, you can't tell if it's made a damned bit of difference.

If I can't find anything good, I am just going to have to get my butt in gear and start learning how to do everything.
