If you develop rules, never have more than ten.

Visit with your predecessors from previous Administrations. They know the ropes and can help you see around some corners. Try to make original mistakes, rather than needlessly repeating theirs.

Be able to resign. It will improve your value to the President and do wonders for your performance.

Politics is human beings; it's addition rather than subtraction.

First rule of politics: you can't win unless you're on the ballot. Second rule: If you run, you may lose. And, if you tie, you do not win.

In the society, where people are just parts in a larger machine, individuals are unable to develop fully.

But I see no reason why a woman should not grow and develop in all those outlets which are suited to her nature, it matters not at all what they may be.

Don't be guilty of ignoring symptoms of rebellion when your children are small. Don't simply excuse it as a stage they are going through and think that they will grow out of it. If you ignore it when they are small, you won't be able to handle it when they get older and the rebellion has had time to develop into a strong force.

I think sometimes when things have too much time to develop you overthink it and you start making changes that aren't necessary.
