I am cursed with computers; something always goes wrong.

I love English rock music the best and have always been fascinated by The Clash, especially Joe Strummer, their singer.

But I'm very careful with opinions because I never know what the truth is. When I read what the press says about me, I don't really believe what it says about other people.

I only judge people in one way. I like them or I don't. But I don't have preconceived ideas.

It's always astounded me to have succeeded at having kids. It's crazy!

What are we going to do as automation increases, as computers get more sophisticated? One thing that people say is we'll retrain people, right? We'll take coal miners and turn them into data miners. Of course, we do need to retrain people technically. We need to increase technical literacy, but that's not going to work for everybody.

By 2029, computers will have emotional intelligence and be convincing as people.

I don't know where anyone ever got the idea that technology, in and of itself, was a savior. Like all human-created 'progress,' computers are problematic, giving and taking away.

For short term relaxation, I take a hot tub. It's my best way to unblock writers' block, too. For a bit longer relaxation, I enjoy camping. Just being in the wilderness, with no phones or computers or anything I have to do really refreshes my spirit.
