After we map out all the main characters' individual arcs, using color-coded index cards, we arrange them by episode and get a rough idea of the scene order.
When we're shooting, I'm in producer mode.
I come from the theater, where the response to your work is immediate, and I suppose there's a part of me that still craves that.
Don't limit yourself to one thing.
Making YouTube videos while I was in school, I was fortunate enough not to really have any negative repercussions from it. I had a lot of positive feedback from my friends, who thought they were great and thought they were funny and that what I was doing was really cool.
In the theatre, the actor is given immediate feedback.
I think I make an effort, a really intentional effort, to not internalize feedback, one way or the other.
I have to give all the solutions and feedback to my players if we want to improve.
My background is in acting, so I enjoy being able to show what I'm looking for. With acting, it's very immediate when you show someone what you're looking for, and the feedback is instantaneous as well.
