Sometimes being normal is to try and sort things out with your fiancee or hang around with a friend. That is normal.

There are performers and songwriters. Songwriters suffer for the song. It's their story. There's nothing wrong with that, but credit needs to be given where it's due.

For a while I toyed around with the idea of doing a Banksy; not letting anyone know what I looked like.

Celebrities aren't scary, I don't crave fame or that side of it at all.

There is a naughty boy in me that comes out sometimes, an alter ego. Not like schizophrenia, more like, creatively. He comes out when I drink and when I'm in the studio. But I'm actually pretty good. I was really well behaved as a kid.

It feels like your subconscious can be way ahead of you, as a songwriter. You can write a song that you think is about one thing and months later you're playing it and thinking, hang on, this is completely informing where I am now.

It just doesn't mean anything to me, the high-profile, big money side of things. I just want enough to live on, and to be able to get on with what I do, and hang around my friends.

I always said that I wouldn't use a teleprompter, and if I start to sing real flat, I'll hang it up.

We weren't here to hope and hang on. We wanted to win.

I go off and make movies; I come home, and I'm a dad and I hang with my girls.
