I learned to love dance for its own sake.
When you get on stage, you can be anything. You are removed from reality in a way, the real world.
But what was my motivation was music, and the fact that I love to move around. I'm always moving around.
When you are on stage, you don't see faces. The lights are in your eyes and you see just this black void out in front of you. And yet you know there is life out there, and you have to get your message across.
When someone says they've read your book 15 times, you think, 'Well, you should read something else.'
Just remember that if you've lost something, you will be open to something else.
I don't see myself in politics at 51. I definitely want to do something else.
If something gets too easy... I want to do something else. But every album is going to be me, no matter what.
Things have always sort of happened for me. Something else always comes up.
